Appointment of Chairman

Sylvania Platinum Limited, the low-cost platinum group metal producer and developer, today announces the appointment of Stuart Murray as Chairman of Sylvania, effective 1 April 2013. Mr Murray replaces Richard Rossiter who has stepped down from the Board of Sylvania.

Roger Williams, a current Non-Executive Director of the Company, will take on the responsibilities of Chairman with immediate effect and until such time Mr Murray assumes the chairmanship.

Detail on Stuart Murray

Mr Murray has over 25 years of executive experience in the Southern African platinum sector, commencing his career at Impala Platinum's Refineries in 1984. He held a number of positions at Impala Platinum, Rhodium Reefs Ltd, Barplats, and Middelburg Steel and Alloys, before joining Aquarius Platinum Limited in 2001 as Chief Executive Officer, holding that position until 2012. He is currently a Non-Executive Director of Talvivaara Mining Company Plc, the Finnish nickel miner.  Mr Murray gained a Bachelor of Science (Engineering) degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, University of London in 1984.

The Board believes that Mr Murray's experience and knowledge of the sector will be an asset to the Company in achieving its strategic goals.
