Symrise AG has selected two new members of the Executive Committee.
The Supervisory Board has installed Hans Holger Gliewe as the new
head of the Flavor & Nutrition division with immediate effect. He
succeeds Dr. Heinz-Jürgen Bertram in this role who has been serving
as Chief Executive Officer of Symrise since July 1, 2009 while
simultaneously managing the division for an interim period.
Furthermore, Chief Financial Officer Dominique Yates will leave the
Group at his own request and in good understanding effective December
31, 2009. His successor as Chief Financial Officer has already been
chosen.

Hans Holger Gliewe (50) has been with the Group since 1980, initially
with the predecessor company Haarmann & Reimer and since 2002 with
the newly created Symrise. During the last 20 years the manager, who
is fluent in five languages, has primarily held leadership positions
abroad. He also worked for several years in a global function at
Symrise headquarters in Germany. Since 2007 Gliewe has been in charge
of the entire Flavor & Nutrition business in Latin America, which has
been the fastest growing region worldwide of the division for years.
From Sao Paulo, Brazil, Gliewe currently runs six production
companies located in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and
Venezuela. Among others he was most recently involved in creating the
Global Citrus Center of Symrise in Brazil, an entity which plays a
central role in the Group's citrus strategy.

Andreas Schmid, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Symrise AG,
said: "In the past years Hans Holger Gliewe has contributed
significantly to the dynamic expansion of the Flavor & Nutrition
division. He has extensive international experience and is highly
respected by our customers. His specific experience in emerging
markets will be highly useful for the further expansion of the
business. We are convinced that as an Executive Committee member he
will continue to lead the division to further profitable growth."

At the same time Symrise announced that Chief Financial Officer
Dominique Yates will be leaving the company at his own request
effective December 31, 2009, to take a new position in another
European country. Yates has been with Symrise since 2007. His
successor has already been chosen. He currently holds a comparable
position at a listed German company, and he will be introduced
shortly and simultaneously with the announcement of his departure by
his current firm.

Yates and wish him all the best in his future career and personal
endeavors. Over the past two years he has contributed significantly
to raising the awareness and improving the profile of Symrise in the
capital market and to the successful refinancing of the company. On

valuable contribution to the success of our company."
