Contract Award for New Refinery Project
Synectics plc (AIM: SNX) , a leader in the design, integration and support of advanced security and surveillance systems, announces the award of a contract worth approximately £1.0 million for the Dos Bocas refinery in south-eastern Mexico.
Synectics and its integration partner, Mathieson Elco, have been awarded a contract by Samsung Engineering to provide safety monitoring and surveillance equipment for the Dos Bocas refinery in south-eastern Mexico, being constructed for the Mexican state-owned oil company, PEMEX (Petróleos Mexicanos). The project, based on Synectics' recently-released COEX C3000 4K camera stations, will be completed early in 2022 with delivery commencing later this year.
Designed for hazardous-area applications and able to withstand operating temperatures up to 70 degrees Celsius, this latest range integrates seamlessly with existing video management systems, including Synectics' Synergy platform, and provides advanced analytics and video streaming options.
"The latest COEX 4K camera stations deliver exceptional image quality, which means users can zoom much further into an area of interest than ever before. This capability provides a greater level of interrogation of live and recorded footage with precise, crisp detail reducing the risk of missing vital information. Another benefit of the new 4K camera range is that it also delivers improved situational awareness across a more comprehensive coverage area than HD, providing sharp image quality for critical monitoring," stated Darren Alder, Divisional Director for Oil and Gas at Synectics.
Paul Webb, Chief Executive of Synectics, added: "This award reflects our commitment to meet customer requirements with camera solutions that deliver exceptional image quality, technological innovation, and the specification flexibility we know the market demands."
The Dos Bocas refinery project is being developed as part of Mexico's National Refining Plan that aims at reducing its reliance on fuel imports from the US. The £7.5bn ($10bn) refinery project is scheduled to commence commercial production in 2023.
