Appointment of Chief Executive Designate



Yule Catto is an international producer of speciality chemicals, which are
supplied to global customers, ranging from manufacturers of medical gloves,
paint and adhesives to the pharmaceuticals and cosmetics industries

Alex Walker, Chief Executive for the past 20 years, will reach normal retirement
age for Yule Catto senior executives in August 2006. The Board of Yule Catto &
Co plc ('Yule Catto') is therefore pleased to announce that Adrian Whitfield
will join the Board on 1st March 2006 as Chief Executive Designate.



Mr Whitfield, aged 44, has a considerable industrial and international
background, latterly as Chief Executive of the plastics division of D.S. Smith
plc and prior to that as Vice President, European Operations, of Crown
Simplimatic.



His early industrial experience was gained with ICI Chemicals and Polymers,
later applied and broadened as a consultant to manufacturing companies
throughout Europe. He holds a BSc Hons. in mechanical engineering from Imperial
College, London and is a member of The Institute of Mechanical Engineers.
