Further to the announcement on 1 September 1999 that Sean Cummins had joined the
Company as Group Finance Director Designate, Mr Cummins has today been appointed
a director of the Company in that capacity.

Set out below are the details concerning Mr Cummins ('the Director') required to
be submitted to the Stock Exchange pursuant to paragraph 16.4 of the Stock
Exchange Listing Rules:

1.  The Director has not held any directorship in any other publicly quoted
    Company at any time in the previous 5 years;

2.  There are no details concerning the Director requiring disclosure pursuant
    to paragraphs 6.F.2 (b) to (g) of the Stock Exchange Listing Rules.
