Director/PDMR Shareholding

Tanfield Group plc ('Tanfield' or the 'Company') was today informed that Mr Roy
Stanley, Chairman and Chief Executive of the Company sold 5,000,000 ordinary
shares on 26 April 2006 at a price of 19.32p per share.

The sale of shares was effected to satisfy further institutional demand for the
Company's shares.

Following this share sale Mr Stanley is now interested in 24,649,292 ordinary
shares in the Company representing 10.25 per cent. of the Company's issued share
capital.
