Tate & Lyle PLC (the "Company") announces that application has been made to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange for 5,716,625 ordinary shares of 25p each in the capital of the Company ("Shares") to be admitted to the Official List of the United Kingdom Listing Authority and to be traded on the main market of the London Stock Exchange.

The Shares are to be issued as a scrip dividend alternative to receiving a cash dividend in respect of the 2010 final dividend and dealings are expected to commence on 30 July 2010.

These Shares will rank pari passu with the existing issued ordinary shares of 25p each.

The number of shares for which an application has been made today has been amended from the number of 5,731,466 included within the result of the AGM announcement on 22 July 2010.
