   Tate & Lyle PLC Sells Investment In Agricultural Bulk Services (Bristol)   
                                   Limited 
                                   

Tate & Lyle PLC announces that it has sold its 50% shareholding in
Agricultural Bulk Services (Bristol) Limited and an associated lease to its
joint venture partner, The Bristol Port Company.

The value of net assets sold is £8 million.

Sale proceeds will be used to reduce Tate & Lyle Group debt.
