TATE & LYLE APPOINTS NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Board of Tate & Lyle announces that Mary Jo Jacobi has been appointed a
Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 October 1999.
Ms Jacobi is Adviser to the Board of HSBC Holdings Plc with global
responsibility for brand strategy, reputation management, government relations
and marketing and communications policies. Prior to her career with HSBC she
had worked in both the public and private sectors, including positions in the
administrations of Presidents Ronald Reagan and George Bush and as a Senior
Vice President and Executive Director of Drexel Burnham Lambert, Inc.
Sir David Lees, Chairman of Tate & Lyle, said, 'I am delighted to welcome Mary
Jo Jacobi to the Board of Tate & Lyle. Her wide international experience will
be of considerable benefit to the Group.'
