SocialGO plc ("SocialGO" or the "Company")
Result of AGM & Board Changes
The Company announces that all resolutions were duly passed at the Company's Annual General Meeting ("AGM") held earlier today.
At the AGM, the Board was pleased to announce that Neil Goodall will be appointed as Chief Executive Officer of SocialGO with effect from 1 May 2012. Alex Halliday will remain on the Board as a director following Neil's appointment. The board changes are in line with the Company's strategy of moving its focus from product development to sales and marketing.
Neil has spent the last nine years working in the digital media industry. Between 2003 and 2006, Neil was European Managing Director for Tescom Plc, the then largest independent software testing company in the world. Neil focused on managing the sales activities of the company across Europe. During his tenure, revenue increased from approximately £5 million to approximately £18 million.
Neil was then headhunted by Testronic Laboratories UK Ltd to become Chief Executive Officer in 2006. Testronic provides testing and consultancy services to the computer games and home entertainment market. It is a subsidiary of the Catalis SE, which is listed on the Deutsche Borse. In the four years Neil worked with the Group, revenues grew from approximately €7m to approximately €34m as a result of significant organic growth and a number of transformational acquisitions.
Prior to working in the digital media industry, Neil spent over 20 years working at the Post Office/Royal Mail, where he latterly held a main board role as Banking Director and was responsible for delivering Europe's largest IT programme in 2003 that introduced a real time banking system into the Post Office and its 16,500 outlets.
SocialGO welcomes Neil to the Board. He brings a wealth of growth company and customer service experience to SocialGO as it now looks to further commercialise its service offering.
Dominic Wheatley, Chairman, commented:
"We are delighted to welcome Neil to the Board and believe he is well suited to drive our sales and marketing efforts in 2012 and beyond. This is an exciting year for SocialGO and we look forward to updating shareholders with our progress."
