Trading Update
Announcement of Interim Results
Bright Things plc, the creator of Bubble, the pre-school interactive games
console and associated software, has today provided a trading update and
announces that its interim results will be released on 15 November 2005.
Bright Thing's main product offering, Bubble with Thomas & Friends was shipped
to retailers last week and is now available in stores across the UK. The
initial consumer response, both to Bubble and the launch games, Tweenies and
Balamory, has been encouraging and there has been a steady weekly increase in
sales since the product was launched. Furthermore, Bubble was recently named by
The Toy Retailers Association as one of the Top Ten Pre-school toys of 2005.
Bandai, distributor of Bubble, have now ordered a total of 112,000 units, 86,000
of which will have been shipped to their warehouse by the end of the year with
the remaining 26,000 due to arrive from China in the first quarter of 2006. As
is normal for products and brands in this category, sales can take time to
build, typically rising each year after launch. It is therefore not expected
that the majority of the units ordered will be sold until 2006.
Five games for Bubble are now available. A sixth game, Noddy, will be available
at the end of November. A further four games, which will be available by
Easter, are currently being developed.
A further update will be given at the interim results.
