Appointment of New Group Chief Executive
Taylor Woodrow plc, the international housing and development Group, announced
today that Iain Napier (aged 52) will take over as Group Chief Executive on 1
February 2002, succeeding Keith Egerton who will retire as a Director on that
date. Iain joins the Main Board with immediate effect.
As Chief Executive of Bass Brewers and Bass International Brewers, Iain Napier
was previously a Main Board Director of Bass PLC (now Six Continents PLC).
Following the disposal of its brewing interests, he became a member of the
Executive Management Committee of Interbrew SA.
Commenting on this appointment, Dr. Robert Hawley, Chairman of Taylor Woodrow
said:
'Under Keith Egerton's leadership, Taylor Woodrow has made tremendous progress
in radically transforming the strategic shape and financial performance of the
company. The Board respect his desire to retire at the age of 60, and wish
him well in the future.
We are delighted that Iain Napier is joining the Group. With his extensive
commercial background and detailed knowledge of consumer markets, Iain is
ideally qualified to drive Taylor Woodrow forward as a leading housing and
development company.'
