Board Changes

We are pleased to announce that Sheryl Palmer has today been appointed to the Board of Taylor Wimpey plc. Sheryl is the President and Chief Executive of our North American business: Taylor Morrison, a position she has held since August 2007. Prior to that appointment Sheryl held a number of senior positions within the housebuilding industry.

We also announce that Mike Davies will be standing down as a non executive Director on 1 September 2009.  Mike has been a Director of the Company since October 2003 and prior to the merger with George Wimpey Plc in July 2007 was the appointed senior independent Director.

'I am delighted to welcome Sheryl Palmer to the Board. She has a wealth of experience of the North American housing market and has led the Taylor Morrison business during a very challenging period with distinction since her appointment as President and Chief Executive two years ago.

On behalf of the Board I would like to thank Mike Davies for his invaluable contribution as a non executive Director. Mike is stepping down from the Board following his recent appointment as Chairman of Manchester Airport Group and his other ongoing roles which include chairmanships of The Royal Mint and Marshalls plc. We wish Mike every success for the future'. 

There are no disclosures required under Listing Rule 9.6.13 with regard to the appointment of Sheryl Palmer.
