TAYLOR WOODROW TO SELL GREENHAM CONSTRUCTION
MATERIALS
As part of the ongoing process of strategic review of its business, Taylor
Woodrow plc today announces that it intends to seek buyers for its
wholly-owned subsidiary, Greenham Construction Materials Ltd.
Greenham Construction Materials' business, the results of which are reported
under Taylor Woodrow's 'Other operations', currently includes the manufacture
of pre-cast concrete paving, sand and gravel extraction, landfill and
recycling operations.
Commenting on the decision, Keith Egerton, Taylor Woodrow chief executive
said, 'the review has concluded that Greenham Construction Materials, whilst a
successful and profitable part of the Taylor Woodrow Group, now represents a
non-core element of our operations and as such it is appropriate that it
should be sold. It is anticipated that the disposal, for which offers will
shortly be invited, will be concluded early in 2000.'
