Taylor Wimpey Employee Share Ownership Trusts

Share Acquisition

Taylor Wimpey plc's Employee Share Ownership Trust 2004 has today acquired 13,777,900 1p ordinary shares ("Shares") on the London Stock Exchange at an average acquisition cost per share of 36.29p net of expenses.

These Shares will be used to meet the valid exercise or vesting of options or awards over Shares granted under the terms of the Company's various share plans.

Following this transaction, Taylor Wimpey's Employee Share Ownership Trust 1995 ("ESOT 1") holds 1,988,261 Shares and Taylor Wimpey's Employee Share Ownership Trust 2004 ("ESOT 2") holds 23,208,882 Shares.

Each of the executive directors of the Company is a potential beneficiary under both ESOT 1 and ESOT 2 and therefore is regarded as having a notional interest in the current holding of each ESOT.
