Board Changes
Taylor Woodrow announces today that Dr Robert Hawley, CBE (66) has decided to
retire from the position of Chairman on 29 May 2003 at the expiry of his current
contract with the company. Dr Hawley has held the office for four years during
which time he has successfully overseen the transformation of Taylor Woodrow
into a focused housing and development company.
With immediate effect, Sir George Russell, CBE (67) will also step down as
Deputy Chairman and is succeeded by Norman Broadhurst (61) who has been a non
executive director for three years.
Sir George will continue as the senior independent non executive director, for a
period of up to one year, and he will lead the search and selection process for
a new Chairman, which has commenced. Sir George's wide external experience and
interests combined with his deep insight into Taylor Woodrow's business will
ensure continuity of non executive representation on the board during this
transition.
The board wishes to thank Dr Hawley for his personal commitment and major
contribution to considerably advancing the business and changing its strategic
direction.
