Thames Water Plc hereby gives notice that on 27 July 2000, the Company granted
options at £6.64 to the following Directors of Thames Water Plc under the
Thames Water all-employee SAYE Scheme.

Bill Alexander has been granted options over 2,767 23p ordinary shares.  These
options are exercisable between 1 October 2007 and 31 March 2008.  Mr
Alexander has withdrawn from the December 1998 offer under which he had been
granted options over 2071 shares at an option price of £8.87.  
Following this notification Mr Alexander holds options over a total of 24,767
ordinary shares. 

Chris Bunker has been granted options over 1,458 23p ordinary shares.  These
shares are exercisable between 1 October 2003 and 31 March 2004.
Following this notification Mr Bunker holds options over a total of 1,458
ordinary shares.
