Taylor Woodrow plc ('the Company') hereby advises that on 8th November, 2000
Taylor woodrow Quest Trustee Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary, purchased on
the market 450,000 25p ordinary shares of the Company at a price of 177p per
share.

The shares have been acquired to meet outstanding options granted under the
Taylor Woodrow Savings-Related Share Option Schemes 1995 and 1997.
