TELEFÓNICA, S.A. as provided in article 82 of the Spanish Securities Market Act (Ley del Mercado de Valores), hereby reports the following

SIGNIFICANT EVENT

In relation to the news published today, Telefónica states that it is considering strategic alternatives regarding its stake in Telefónica Czech Republic, including conversations with investor group PPF, not having certainty with respect to the feasibility of reaching an agreement, nor with respect to the eventual terms and conditions of such agreement.
