Proposed Board Appointment

Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust PLC ("TEMIT" or the "Company") announces that the Board of Directors are proposing to appoint Simon Jeffreys as a non-executive Director of the Company, with effect from 15 July 2016, if approved by Shareholders at the Company's AGM which is due to be held on 15 July 2016.
