                       Investor and Analyst Visit to Asia
                    Sunday 31 October to Thursday 4 November


Tesco PLC is this week hosting an investor and sell-side analyst visit to Asia
to see its operations in Korea, China and Thailand. Members of the senior
management of Tesco PLC and local management will describe aspects of the
business in some detail, in presentations and store tours.

Within these presentations the following information on current trading will be
given: like-for-like sales growth in Korea and Thailand, our two largest Asian
markets, was 4.9% and 1.1% respectively during the thirteen weeks of our
international third quarter, ended 30 September 2004.

No other new material information will be disclosed on the visit and the
presentations are available on the Tesco investor relations website.
