                        Changes to the Board of Tesco PLC


As previously announced on 21 December 2004, Carolyn McCall, Chief Executive
of Guardian Newspapers Ltd, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director to
the Board of Tesco PLC with effect from today.

Carolyn replaces Veronique Morali who has now left the Board after four years
service.
