                                 CENTRAL EUROPE


Tesco PLC announces that an Investor Relations trip to Central Europe will
commence today Wednesday 4th December 2002. On this trip a number of
shareholders and research analysts will have the opportunity to visit Tesco and
competitor stores in the region.
