Tesco plc - Repurchase programme

Tesco plc announces that the Company has entered into irrevocable and
non-discretionary arrangements with its brokers, Goldman Sachs International and
Deutsche Bank AG, to repurchase on its behalf and within certain pre-set
parameters, ordinary shares in the Company for cancellation during the period
commencing 26 February 2007 and ending on 16 April 2007. This arrangement is in
accordance with Chapter 12 of the Listing Rules and the Company's general
authority to repurchase shares.
