                               Update on Disposal


Artisan (UK) plc will not be completing the disposal, announced on 2 April 2002,
of Artisan (UK) Properties Limited, its residual property investment business,
scheduled to complete yesterday. This follows the early sale of the major asset
in that business as announced on 25th April 2002. The few remaining assets
within Artisan (UK) Properties Limited, being mostly tenanted properties with a
strong rental income and with a net realisable value of less than £400,000, will
now be disposed of individually.
