                      EVC Christows PLC ('the Company')


On 23 November 2000, following the offer for Christows Group Limited becoming
unconditional in all respects, the Company wrote to holders of options under
the Christows Group Limited unapproved executive share option scheme ('the
Christows Group Scheme') offering them replacement options under the EVC
Christows Plc Executive Share Option Scheme ('the Company Scheme'). The offer
for options was referred to in the Company's circular dated 26 October 2000.


The Company is now pleased to announce that it has received valid acceptances
from holders of 176,157 options under the Christows Group Scheme, representing
97.4 per cent. of the options granted under that scheme.


Accordingly the offer to holders of options under the Christows Group Scheme
is now closed, and the Company has today granted 17,293,331 options under the
unapproved part of the Company Scheme in consideration of the holders of
options under the Christows Group Scheme agreeing to the cancellation of their
existing options under the Christows Group Scheme.
