                STRATEGIC INVESTMENT IN INTER-ALLIANCE GROUP PLC

                               ("Inter-Alliance")


Evolution Group, the AIM listed investment bank specialising in enabling
technologies and retail asset management, announced on 29 January 2002 that it
had made a strategic investment in Inter-Alliance, the UK's largest national
independent financial advisory group.

This strategic investment comprised the acquisition of 7,051,510 ordinary shares
of 1p each at 24p per share and a loan of £4 million, convertible into ordinary
share capital at the Placing and Open Offer price of 70p.

Following today's successful completion of Inter-Alliance's Placing and Open
Offer to raise £17.2 million (net of expenses) and full conversion of Evolution
Group's loan of £4m into ordinary share capital, at a conversion price of 70p
per share, Evolution Group is now interested in an aggregate holding of
18,451,676 ordinary shares of 1p each, representing approximately 22% of
Inter-Alliance's current issued ordinary share capital.
