Digital Barriers plc
$11.9 million US Government Contract Award
Digital Barriers plc (AIM: DGB), the specialist provider of visually intelligent solutions to the global surveillance, security and safety markets, is pleased to announce the award of a contract with a major US federal law enforcement agency valued at $11.9 million; this has been received before the expiration of a major framework contract in September.
The award is for the supply of specialist surveillance equipment from one of the Group's partners, which this agency uses alongside its installed base of Digital Barriers technology. Although the products carry material lead times, the Group will endeavour to deliver the contract before the end of the current financial year. The contract is expected to generate slightly lower margins than are usually generated from the Group's Brimtek division.
Zak Doffman, Chief Executive Officer of Digital Barriers, commented:
"This contract is for partner technology into one of our most strategically important customers. Although this award is not for Digital Barriers technology, we are now a trusted supplier into this and a number of other flagship US agencies, all of whom have become material users of our proprietary technologies."
The company will announce results for the financial year ended 31 March 2017 in September 2017.
