Torex Retail PLC 19 September 2006 Torex Retail plc: Board Changes Announces appointment of new Chief Executive Officer Torex Retail plc, the leading supplier of IT solutions to retailers worldwide, today announces the appointment of Neil Mitchell as new Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. In addition, it also announces that Marcus Leek has been promoted to the main plc board as Group Finance Director with immediate effect. Chris Moore, Chairman and Chief Executive will be stepping down from the role of Chief Executive but will move to Non-Executive Chairman with an operational role focused on the continued development of, and liaison with, global retail customers. An executive search has been instituted to identify a suitable Non-Executive Chairman for the Group. The role is being undertaken by Chris for an interim period until the successful outcome of the executive search and a proper hand-over can be achieved. At that time, Chris will remain with the business performing an advisory customer-focused role. Neil Mitchell, aged 42, has accepted the role of Chief Executive Officer. Neil has considerable experience working in business and strategic planning for major UK and international companies. He was most recently Executive Chairman of a specialist international corporate advisory group dealing in strategy deployment, international trade and specific post M&A business transformation. Having been an integral part of project teams, Neil has executed corporate transactions in selected sectors across Europe, USA, South America and Russian markets. After an earlier career at BAe Systems and in management consultancy with IBM Global Services, from 1996 - 2000 Neil worked as special adviser to various entertainment & media technology companies in Hollywood, energy companies in the USA and with two UK listed companies, United Utilities Plc and Severn Trent Plc, where he worked on corporate transformation plans, strategy and business planning, innovative new venture creation and international business development. A key achievement during this period was as strategic advisor to Severn Trent's Group Chief Executive where he was the architect and developer of the USA strategy and operational plan for Severn Trent Services Inc. to grow revenues from US$200m to US$1bn achieved through restructuring, customer service improvements and major operating efficiency gains.
