Board Appointments
Torex Retail plc, a leading global retail systems provider, today provides an
update following the announcement of management actions issued on 31 January
2007.
The Company announces that Mr Keith Taylor has been appointed to the main Board
with immediate effect as Acting Chief Executive Officer. Keith Taylor has just
completed 7 months as Turnaround Director in the NHS. His IT sector experience
has been at Morse Plc where he initially integrated the Diagonal acquisition
before going on to radically change their reseller business, which remains a
successful service-led company. He was also Chief Operating Officer at Admiral
plc where he was responsible for transforming the Group into a wholly integrated
business before its onward sale to CMG.
Mr Iain Lynam has also been appointed to the main Board with immediate effect
with specific responsibility for managing any restructuring of the business
which may be appropriate.
The Company also confirms that it remains in dialogue with its lenders who
continue to be supportive of the restructuring process.
The Board would like to take the opportunity to thank its employees, customers
and suppliers for their support during this challenging time. The Company will
make a further announcement with a full financial update as soon as possible.
