Following a Section 212 notice requesting disclosure of interests in shares the
Company was informed on 14 November 2006 (by a letter dated 10 November 2006)
that at close of business on 8 November 2006 Cycladic Catalyst Master Fund  had
a material interest in the relevant share capital of Torex Retail Plc of
18,397,580 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company ('Ordinary Shares')
representing 4.61 per cent of the Company's current total issued ordinary share
capital of 399,386,472 Ordinary Shares.

The Company was further informed on 14 November 2006 that as a consequence of a
further recent purchase of Torex Retail Plc Ordinary Shares Cycladic Catalyst
Master Fund has a disclosable interest in 20,051,230 Ordinary Shares
representing  5.02 per cent of the Company's current total issued Ordinary Share
capital.
