TOREX RETAIL PRESCRIBES £3M VISUAL SOLUTION FOR
CO-OPERATIVE GROUP PHARMACY
Leading retail technology solutions provider, Torex Retail plc has secured a £3M
contract to deploy its Visual Back Office, PoS and Enterprise solutions to more
than 300 Co-operative Group Pharmacy outlets across the UK.
The deployment will commence at the end of this year following a pilot roll-out
to 29 stores. Under the terms of the contract, Torex Retail will also provide
all associated hardware and software maintenance within the contract.
When complete, more than 500 IBM EPoS terminals will be running the Torex Visual
PoS solution.
The combination of Visual PoS, Back Office and Enterprise will provide
Co-operative Group Pharmacy, which is based in Manchester, with a fully
integrated enterprise wide retail solution for the management of all over the
counter transactions.
The contract is the latest in a series of major new customer wins for Torex
Retail which earlier this month announced a major contract to provide a suite of
performance and productivity solutions to Big Food Group in more than 950
Iceland Stores and Booker Cash and Carry branches.
Torex Retail's Visual solution already has a significant installed base and is
used by a number of Co-operative Societies.
Commenting on the contract win, Torex Retail's Group Sales and Marketing
Director Mark Sprigg said;
'This represents a significant contract win for Torex Retail and further
strengthens our market position within the Co-operative and convenience sectors.
We are confident that Co-operative Group Pharmacy will see real business benefit
from deploying our solution. We believe our EPoS solution will enable
Co-operative Group Pharmacy to increase the operating efficiency of its
checkouts and reduce the time it takes to train new staff because Visual is
intuitive and simple to use. We are delighted the organisation has chosen our
solution which is already well proven in this market sector.'
Commenting on the decision to award the contract to Torex Retail, Derek Drury of
Co-operative Group Pharmacy said;
'Torex Retail was able to provide us with a fully integrated solution which is
already well proven within certain Co-operative Societies. I believe that the
roll out of the Visual product suite will increase the overall operating
efficiency of our stores.'
