                                  New Director

The Company is pleased to announce that on 1 February 2002, Mr Nicholas Charles
Howlett, aged 40, was appointed to the Board with immediate effect and- in an
executive capacity as Product Development Director.

Mr Howlett has been with the Company for 10 years and has been Works Director of
the main operating subsidiary, Titon Hardware since 1998.

There are no further details under 6.F.2 (a) to (g) of the Listing Rules of the
UK Listing Authority that need to be disclosed.
