Chairman's Statement at the Annual General Meeting
At today's Annual General Meeting of Topps Tiles Plc, the Chairman, Stuart
Williams told shareholders:
'The Group has made an excellent start to the new financial year and we are
delighted to report that for the 14 weeks to 4 September we are now
experiencing like for like sales growth of 10%.
'We are pleased with the performance of the re-branded ex Tile City stores and
our decision to phase out bathrooms and focus on the core tile offering in all
stores is improving overall returns on those stores concerned.
'This financial year we plan to add 15 new stores and to date we have opened
three outlets which are located in Mitcham, Ilford and Wishaw.
'With an increasing market share, a growing tile market and our continued
expansion, the Board looks forward to the future with confidence.'
