Total Fina Elf.

Application has been made by Total Fina Elf to the UK Listing Authority and the
London Stock Exchange for the admission of 18,519,037 shares with a par value of
10 euro: Total Fina Elf has applied for the listing of (i) 913,185 shares as
consideration for the acquisition of PetroFina shares pursuant to a share
exchange offer, (ii) 1,059,185 shares resulting from the issue of share options,
(iii) 1,944 shares resulting from the exercise of Total Fina warrants in the US,
(iv) 1,977,193 shares issued to employees, (v) 14,437,768 shares issued in
connection with the acquisition of Elf Acquitaine shares pursuant to a share
exchange offer and (vi) 129,762 shares issued in connection with the exercise of
warrants of employees of PetroFina. Dealings are expected to become effective
from 12 December 2000.
