Norwegian North Sea: Tune enters production
Paris, November 29, 2002 - TotalFinaElf (20%) announces the start-up of the Tune
gas and condensate field, located in the Norwegian North Sea 10 kilometres west
of the Oseberg field.
Tune will have a daily production of approximately 10 million cubic meters of
gas and 25,000 barrels of condensate.
The subsea development includes a group of four wells linked to the Oseberg
Field Center. The gas is then transported to Heimdal using the OGT (Oseberg Gas
Transport) network on its way to its final destination of, via Norwegian
pipelines, either the United Kingdom or continental Europe.
TotalFinaElf is partnered with Norsk Hydro, operator with 40%, and Petoro also
with 40%.
This project strengthens TotalFinaElf's position in the North Sea. It will
contribute to increasing the Company's regional production, which was 715,000
barrels of oil equivalent in 2001.
