                        Dimitar Berbatov Signs for Spurs


Tottenham Hotspur plc announces that it has reached agreement with Bayer
Leverkusen for the transfer of striker Dimitar Berbatov for a fee of Euros 16.0
million.  Personal player terms have been agreed.  The player registration is
subject to a successful work permit application and will be effective from 1st
July 2006.


Bulgarian international Berbatov, age 25, scored 21 goals in 34 matches for
Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga last season, the second highest goalscorer in
the league.


Named Bulgarian Player of the Year in 2002, 2004 and 2005, Berbatov has scored
31 goals in 50 senior international appearances.
