                           Transaction in Own Shares

Further to previous announcements concerning the facility set up for
shareholders in the Company holding 2,500 ordinary shares or less ('Small
Shareholders') to be able to dispose of their shares in the Company at nil cost
('Nil Cost Dealing Facility'), the Company announces that Small Shareholders
have tendered a further 22,795 ordinary shares under the Nil Cost Dealing
Facility prior to the fourth dealing date of 5 May 2004 and the Company bought
for cancellation on 22,795 ordinary shares at 22p per share on 5 May 2004.

Following this transaction, there are 101,641,639 ordinary shares in issue.
