Transaction in Own Shares
In the Company's circular to shareholders dated 8 October 2004 which related to
the authority to make market purchases of own shares and approval for a waiver
of obligations under Rule 9 of the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers, the
Company stated that it would re-open the arrangements allowing shareholders in
the Company holding 2,500 ordinary shares or less ('Small Shareholders') to
dispose of their shares in the Company at nil cost ('Nil Cost Dealing Facility')
Small Shareholders have tendered 80,721 ordinary shares under the Nil Cost
Dealing Facility prior to the first dealing date of 30 November 2004 and the
Company has bought for cancellation 80,721 ordinary shares at 27.25p per share.
Following this transaction, there are 96,616,087 ordinary shares in issue.
