                           Transaction in Own Shares

Further to previous announcements concerning the facility set up for
shareholders in the Company holding 2,500 ordinary shares or less ('Small
Shareholders') to be able to dispose of their shares in the Company at nil cost
('Nil Cost Dealing Facility'), the Company announces that Small Shareholders
have tendered a further 11,912 ordinary shares under the Nil Cost Dealing
Facility prior to the dealing date of 31 January 2005 and the Company has bought
for cancellation 11,912 ordinary shares at 31.5p per share.

Following this transaction, there are 96,586,271 ordinary shares in issue.
