                           Transaction in Own Shares

Further to previous announcements concerning the facility set up for
shareholders in the Company holding 10,000 ordinary shares or less ('Small
Shareholders') to be able to dispose of their shares in the Company at nil cost
('Nil Cost Dealing Facility'), the Company announces that Small Shareholders
have tendered a further 76,127 ordinary shares under the Nil Cost Dealing
Facility prior to the dealing date of 31 May 2005 and the Company has bought for
cancellation 79,127 ordinary shares at 31p per share.

Following this transaction, there are 98,295,004 ordinary shares in issue.
