Market Purchase of Company's Own Shares

Notification was also given that pursuant to the authority granted at the Annual General Meeting of the Company held on 29 July 2008 to make market purchases of the Company's own Sigma shares of 12.5p, a market purchase of 50,000 Sigma shares of 12.5p each in the capital of the Company was made on 19 August 2008 at an average price of 63.89pence per share

Following these purchases and cancellations there will be 257,150,000 Ordinary shares of 25p each and 127,265,000 Sigma shares of 12.5p each in issue.

The capital of the Company with full voting rights is now 384,415,000. This figure may be used as the denominator for calculations of interests in the Company's voting rights.  

Shareholders are reminded that on a poll vote, the total number of votes cast is calculated according to the NAV per ordinary share and the NAV per Sigma share.
