Market Purchase of Company's Own Shares
Notification was given that pursuant to the authority granted at the Annual
General Meeting of the Company held on 24 July 2007 to make market purchases of
the Company's own Ordinary shares of 25p, a market purchase of 100,000 Ordinary
shares of 25p each in the capital of the Company was made on 15 April 2008 at an
average price of 175.25pence per share.
Following this purchase and cancellation there will be 258,500,000 Ordinary
shares of 25p each and 127,680,000 Sigma shares of 12.5p each in issue.
The capital of the Company with full voting rights is now 386,180,000. This
figure may be used as the denominator for calculations of interests in the
Company's voting rights.
