Tracsis plc ("Tracsis")
CONTRACT WIN AND TRADING UPDATE
Contract win
Tracsis Plc, a leading provider of operational planning software and consultancy services to the rail industry, is pleased to announce a further contract win with a major UK train operating company. The contract secures licence revenue for the recently released TRACSRoster optimisation suite for a period of 3 years with a contract value in excess of £150,000. This win is a key milestone in the rollout of Tracsis' product range and should pave the way for broader industry acceptance.
Trading update
The group continues to trade profitably and results have been in line with expectations. However, the Board feels it prudent to notify shareholders of the likely delays to the re-tendering for both the Essex Thameside and Greater Anglia franchises which has resulted from a change of government. The DfT has today announced plans for a consultation exercise on rail franchising policy to be carried out prior to further franchises being re-let. The net result of this will mean revenue connected to these franchises which was expected to fall June - August 2010 will likely move into 2011.
The Board is keen to stress that they believe this is purely a timing issue and that there is no material reduction to trading activity in the mid term. To minimise the impact of these delays the group has re-directed resources away from franchise bidding and onto further roll-out of software and associated services with our TOC customers.
