Election of Director

The Board of TRIO HOLDINGS PLC ('Trio') is pleased to announce
that Mr Hirose Watanabe, Chairman of Nihon Tanshi Co Ltd of Tokyo
('Nihon'), has been elected a non-executive director.

Nihon is the parent company of Nittan Capital Holding Limited
of Hong Kong, which acquired 29.9% of the ordinary shares of
Trio on 1st March, 1999.  Mr Tony Stradmoor, who represented
the interests of Nihon as a non-executive director since that
date, has stepped down.
