                Travis Perkins Board Changes


Travis Perkins plc announces that Humfrey Smeeton has  today
retired as a non-executive director of the company after  10
years  on  the  board.   Ted  Adams,  who  is  currently  an
executive director, will become a non-executive director  on
1 August 2000.
