Travis Perkins plc ('the Company') was notified today that Mr Paul Hampden
Smith, a Director of the Company, purchased yesterday 4020 ordinary shares of
10p each in the Company at a price of 1237p per share.

As a result, Mr Hampden Smith now has a beneficial interest in 45,710 ordinary
shares of 10p each in the Company, representing less than 0.1% of the issued
share capital.
