Travis Perkins plc ('the Company') was notified today that Mr Michael Dearden, a
Non-Executive Director of the Company, purchased 1,000 ordinary shares of 10p
each in the Company at a price of 1569.54p per share on 21 September 2007.

As a result, Mr Dearden now has a beneficial interest in 4,000 ordinary shares
of 10p each in the Company, representing less than 0.1% of the issued share
capital.
