John Coleman becomes a non-executive director of Travis Perkins
John Coleman, 52, chief executive of House of Fraser plc since 1996, has been
appointed a non-executive director of Travis Perkins plc, a leading distributor
of building products and materials to the building and related trades in the UK.
Mr Coleman was chief executive of Texas Homecare from 1993 to 1995 and before
that spent ten years with Burton Group PLC, becoming managing director
consecutively of Top Shop, Top Man and Dorothy Perkins.
Commenting on Mr Coleman's appointment, Tim Stevenson, chairman of Travis
Perkins, said: 'We are delighted to welcome John onto our board at an important
point in the company's history. His wealth of experience in the retail sector
adds a further valuable dimension to our collective skills as Wickes, one of the
UK's largest DIY retailers, prepares to become part of the Travis Perkins
group.'
