Purchase of Treatt PLC shares by the Treatt Employee Share Trust


On 14 June 2004 the Treatt Employee Share Trust ('Treatt EST') purchased 147,841
Treatt ordinary shares at 188p. These purchases and the resultant holding
represent 1.44% of Treatt's ordinary share capital.


The shares held by the Treatt EST are held for beneficiaries who include, inter
alia, directors and employees of Treatt and its subsidiaries. Therefore, the
directors, being potential beneficiaries of the Treatt EST, are interested in
all the Treatt shares acquired by the Treatt EST and not allocated. The
directors concerned are Hugo William Bovill, Anita Jane Haines, Richard Andrew
Hope and Robin Mears.
